In the Makeup Chair

In The Makeup Chair

This blog post is waaaayy overdue, but I have just been so busy. So two weeks ago on Saturday the 19th, I went to the Sinead Cady meet-up and makeup lesson in The Benefit Boutique in Dublin. It was the prettiest event that I have ever been to. I have been to the Benefit Boutique before, but it was just a totally different atmosphere that day. First of all, loads of people were coming out after having just met Sinead, completely giddy and clutching mini Benefit bags. Me, and a lot of other people, were walking in, completely giddy because wewere about tomeet her. There were so many people there it was pretty crazy.

Once we went in, we got a Benefit voucher and our tickets. Then, we were all brought up to a room upstairs in the building. And oh my goodness, the room was literally instagram perfect. There were even cupcakes, prosecco and schloer. And the cupcakes were so yummy.

Then Sinead started talking and we all sorta let out an awwwww, because she is literally stunning in person. And so cute. She gave a really in-depth makeup tutorial on her sister, explaining everything. It was super helpful and two girls that work at Benefit would explain the products in between. Plus those girls were really funny, so it made everything even more enjoyable. Once that was done, which took over an hour, we got to ask questions and then we all went downstairs back to the boutique. Which is where some girls got their nails done, others their eyebrows, others their hair, and me, my makeup. Which looked so pretty, I never wanted to wash it off.

Then Sinead came down again and eek, started talking to us and took some pictures! Even better, she then posted a picture of her and me on her Instagram and used it in the thumbnail in her YouTube video. I literally freaked!!! Plus, when I posted a picture of us on my Instagram, she commented on it. She was just really kind and extremely lovely to talk to.

B3 aahhh that’s me on the right!!!

Once she had gone around to everyone and talked to them, for a really long time too, she thanked us all and went back upstairs.

This is when I had a little nosey around the store to see what I could buy. I went with the foundation, because its really good and makes my skin look flawless. I went to pay and also got the Fake Up concealer, a mini primer and amine Benetint. Plus I got a really cute Benefit tote bag, which I will obviously be using.

Herbal Essences Nearly Naked Dry Shampoo Review

Hello everyone,

I’m not the biggest fan of dry shampoos, just because I’d rather wash my hair and actually have it feel fresh. Maybe it’s because I just haven’t found a really good dry shampoo. Until now that is…

I was in Boots the other day and had a look at the dry shampoo section. Just as I was about topick up the Batiste on (I’ve used it before, but wasn’t too impressed) I saw this one. What caught my eye was the design and I know you should’nt judge a book by its cover, but Iwas glad I did in that moment.

First of all, it has NO parabens and NO colourants. In total, it has 15 ingerdients, all of which are quite natural. The Batiste one and Tresemme dry shampoo had waaaay more than that. The ingredient list was literally so small and long, I felt like I need magnifying glasses to read them.

So I bought the Herbal Essences once and tried it out once I got home.

First of all, there’s no white residue. Now I have naturally brown hair and there was no white! And it does come out white. Once you spray it into your hair, it almost feels wet, but also really cold. What I would imagine dry ice to feel like, if you were able to touch that stuff without burning your hands off. It is literally the weirdest andcoolest feeling ever.

But let’s get to the actual doing part. It provides so much volume and just takes the grease away. Like a little fairy that just magically appears and swipes it away.
The only thing  i noticed is, that my hair begins to almost feel like I backcombed it throughout the day. It still looks great and natural but begins to feel a bit strange.

But it’s just so cheap, about €2.40 or so and definitely worth picking up the next time you’re in Boots.

Enjoy and Good Luck xx

A Mason Jar full of Summer

A Mason Jar full of Summer

Summer Drinks   summer-collage-backgrounds-zd6t19bl  images

Everybody needs water and so therefore everyone drinks it. But, we can forget or lets face it, simply just prefer the taste of a Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino….

They are so good though….

But what if you added some fruity flavour and gorgeous colour to your water? You’d so drink more water!!! Just like this Fiji water, which looks so cute and pretty it makes you wanna drink more water… It’s all just in our heads…

let’s get started…..

Summer Drinks

It’s super easy. All you need is:

some bottled water or tap water if you like

some fresh fruit of your choice ( I chose strawberries, blueberries, oranges, limes, lemons and cucumber)

mason jars

ice cubes

and straws

Simply cut up your fruit into small chunks, so that you don’t have a huge mouthful when you take a sip of water. Pour some water into a mason jar and then add some ice cubes. Pop in any fruit combination that you like into each mason jar. For even more flavour, squeeze the juice of half a lemon or lime and add this to your water.

Voila! Super easy, cute, healthy and yummy drinks.

Enjoy and Good Luck. xx

April Favourites

My April Favourites

I’ve been loving a few things this month, products that are not new but definitely incredible. This is my first monthly favourites so let me know if you enjoy this so I know to do one every month. Let’s get right into it…

1. Victoria’s Secret Pure Seduction Body Mist. Oh my goodness,if you were to take every single incredible smelling fruit and flower, mash them up and create a gorgeous scent, this would be it. It is literally the definition of perfection. It just smells so fresh and fruity, with a hint of flirty. I love that the scent lingers on your skin for a long mount of time, but if you do re-spritz, it’s not too overwhelming. I highly recommend this product and the packaging is just so cute. I love this oodles and oodles.

2. The Neutrogena Visibly Clear pink grapefruit facial wash and scrub. I have been using these two product for a while now and my skin is loving it. I use the scrub 2-3 times a week, as I have really sensitive skin, and the facial wash every morning and night. At night I’ve been using it twice, once to get off any make-up and then another pump right after to get rid of any oil build up and dirt. This has really helped clear my skin. And can we just talk about the smell. Oh my goodness it smells heavenly… so Perfect!!!!

3. The TRESemme Heat Defence styling spray. I started recently using this before I blow dry my hair and it has honestly made such a difference. It makes my hair look healthier and it feels a lot softer too. Just a few spritzes and it’s ready to go. It also has a really subtle but lovely scent to it, that I love. Screen shot 2014-04-23 at 15.26.23

4. The Urban Decay Ammo Palette. I’ve mostly been loving this eye palette this month for the eyeshadow “Shattered”, a gorgeous sparkly turquoise colour. I’ve been wearing this on my lower lash line to add a pop of spring and colour to my eyes. It’s so pigmented and just looks so pretty on. I’ve also been loving “Polyester Bridge” as an inner corner highlight.

5. Catrice Sun Glow Matt Bronzing Powder. So apart from the fact that this bronzer is supa cheap, it also looks beautiful on the skin. And now that the sun is coming out it’s time to unleash our inner golden goddess right? It looks so natural and comes in a variety  of shades to suit your skin tone. I also really like the carvings in the bronzer, however once you’ve used it a few times they start to fade…

6. Lindsey Kelk’s ‘I Heart Hollywood’. I honestly don’t even know where to begin on this book, it’s so good. So a woman flies out to LA with her best friend to interview a hot and famous celebrity, who has come with a few secrets. She goes to lavish parties, gets drunk, makes mistakes, goes shopping, meets cute guys and has fun. It’s such a good and funny read and is perfect for anyone who loves Sex And The City. Which I do btw. There’s a few others, the first one being I heart New York, which is also incredible. I highly recommend checking them out.

So those were all my favourites for this month. I hope you enjoyed and let  me know what your favourites are..

Good Luck. xx

Goodbye Dry Skin

Screen shot 2013-12-04 at 11.57.07 Screen shot 2013-12-04 at 11.57.18

We’ve all been there. Bitter cold days that leave the skin feeling extremely dry and flaky looking. Now that it’s the new year, it’s finally time to get rid of your dry skin. I’m going to show you some easy DIY at home remedies that you can use to get rid of dry skin and say hello to a beautifully moisturised and smooth surface.

So let’s get started!

1. Firstly, drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated! So drink up!

2.To reduce the Flaky skin around eyebrows and nose,  you’ll need Apples, lemons and honey

Recipe: Juice one apple with the skin on. Add a tiny bit of freshly squeezed lemon and use a cotton pad to apply the juice in an upward and outward direction. Apples and lemon act as an exfoliant for the skin. Apples also help to tone and boost collagen production. Follow with applying some honey on your skin, to help moisturize your skin.

3. Olive Oil, Lemon, & Salt Scrub

For a little more exfoliation on your skin,  mix the juice from 1 lemon with 5 tablespoons of sea salt and one tablespoon of olive oil to create a luxurious body scrub.  The fresh lemon scent is really invigorating and with the addition of olive oil, this scrub will leave your skin feeling fresh and moisturized and incredibly soft.

5. Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is wonderful, a product that has so many versatile uses. I love using a bit of coconut  oil and lathering it right onto my skin. It’s great for use on legs to help while shaving, but also great for putting into your hair and leaving it in a bun for a few hours as a deep conditioner. Rinse out after a couple of hours with shampoo and voila, your hair will feel and look silky smooth.

Enjoy and Good Luck. xx
