DIY BRANDY MELVILLE CHIYO BRALETTE

DIY Brandy Melville Chiyo Bralette

Hello and welcome to my blog!

So summer is coming up and the wetaher is getting super warm outside, so obviously those crop tops and racer-back tops are making their way out of the closet. Brandy Melville sell a really cute bralette, the Chiyo Bralette, for $19, so I thought I would make one myself, for as little as $5!!!

What you will need:

a brallete (from primark)
black thread
a needle
scissors
and some elastic

So let’s get started.

Start by cutting off the back of your brallete.
Cut as close to the seam as possible for a cleaner finish.

Then, measuring the elastic around your back, cut the elastic into strips.

I decided to cut three, rather than the original six, I just prefered the look of it. You can obviously do as many as you like.

Then just sow your strips of elastic across the back.

Once you have done that, you can cut two smaller sized elastic strips to be sewn on vertically.

If you want you could add some straps over the shoulders, but I prefered the strapless look.

And it’s so simple!! Now you can wear your super cheap and totally cute bralette!!

DIY Perfume Display

Hello everybody,

Today I have a really simple DIY for all of your perfumes. This is so cute and you can totally customize to suit your own personal style. So lets get started….

What you will need:
A picture frame
Pictures
Scissors
Perfume

Taking your picture frame, I bought mine at IKEA, take out the picture that comes with it and set everything aside.

Taking the pictures that you printed out or may already have had, figure out which one you would like to have on display. I picked one that would go with my perfumes, which have apinkish theme going on.

Cut your picture to fit the frame if it already doesn’t.

It’s easiest if you put some tape to the back, to make sure it is completely secure and won’t budge.

Then, all you have to do is out your chosen picture back into the frame and put it all together.

Last of all, place your frame flat on a surface and then arrange your perfume on top.

You will need old necklaces andbracelets, a glass or plastic jar and scissors.

Taking the old necklaces that you don’t wear or like anymore, cut these up until you’re left with individual beads. Place these into the glass jar. You can use whatever colour or size pearls(beads) that you like. This way you can personalize it the way you want.

DIY Notebooks #backtoschool

So I guess summer is officially over with school starting up again. So today I’m just going to show you two really easy but cute ways to make your boring refill pads or copies look cute and personal. So let’s get started…

Screen shot 2014-08-28 at 16.08.30

Taking you blank piece of paper, paint any colour or colours thatyou would like onto it. I used a light pink and blue to create and ombre effect for one. For the other, I placed the waterpaint colours in the corner and painted from there on outwards. Screen shot 2014-08-28 at 16.00.39

Once that has dried, you can leave it like so, or draw patterns and designs on it. Whatever you like. Make it your own. This way you can be sure that no one else will have the same copy as you. Screen shot 2014-08-28 at 16.01.45

Then all you will need to do is place it onto your copy with craft glue or Mod Podge. Paint a coat of glue onto the front part to seal in any design that you have created. Remember, this will not be perfect and air bubbles are completely normal…Screen shot 2014-08-28 at 16.01.27

Using old magazines that you don’t mind cutting up, cut rectangular pieces out that you can use as a label. Alternatively, you can use pieces of fabric or even make your own, as I have done with the colourful ones on the left hand side of the picture.

Using your glue, stick these to your unique and personal copy and simply write your class or name on it.

And voila! Now you have cute and colourful copies that you won’t mind using.

Valentine’s Day is nearly upon us, only a few days left to go. Whether you’re spending the day with a special someone, your friends or even just chilling at home, these cute and easy DIY’s will get you into the Valentine spirit. So let’s get started….

Ok so this first one isn’t actually a DIY, but it is a nice way to add some lovin’ into your room. Simply add a white blanket to compliment any red or pink heart shaped pillows or cushions that you may have. And voila! Your couch is Valentine ready!

Next are these super simple cards, that are different and unique. Instead of writing love or drawing hearts onto homemade cards, add red or pink coloured buttons and fabric. Simply use a hot glue gun to stick the buttons onto the card, in any shape that you prefer, I have a heart pictured above. Let it dry and when it has, you have a lovely and unique card.

For the next one, all you need is some wool or any fabric of your choice. Personally i think pipe cleaners work best. You just need to wrap it around itself to create any word that you would like, such as Love, Be Mine and I heart you. It’s so easy and cute!

This one is also super easy and done in no time. Simply chose pink and red paper and cut them into hearts, small and large. Then, using a needle. thread in and out through the hearts, one small then  one big, to create a really adorable decoration to hang up on your wall!!

This as so awesome for your room and can be used any day of the year. Taking cardboard, cut it into a heart. Then, taking fairy lights, place it onto the heart and mark out where you would like the light bulbs to be seen. Taking a pair of scissors, cut holes in the areas that you marked for the light bulbs. Now all you have to do is loop the lights through the holes and hang up onto your wall! Chic!!

I hope you enjoyed and Good Luck. xx

Goodbye Dry Skin

Screen shot 2013-12-04 at 11.57.07 Screen shot 2013-12-04 at 11.57.18

We’ve all been there. Bitter cold days that leave the skin feeling extremely dry and flaky looking. Now that it’s the new year, it’s finally time to get rid of your dry skin. I’m going to show you some easy DIY at home remedies that you can use to get rid of dry skin and say hello to a beautifully moisturised and smooth surface.

So let’s get started!

1. Firstly, drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated! So drink up!

2.To reduce the Flaky skin around eyebrows and nose,  you’ll need Apples, lemons and honey

Recipe: Juice one apple with the skin on. Add a tiny bit of freshly squeezed lemon and use a cotton pad to apply the juice in an upward and outward direction. Apples and lemon act as an exfoliant for the skin. Apples also help to tone and boost collagen production. Follow with applying some honey on your skin, to help moisturize your skin.

3. Olive Oil, Lemon, & Salt Scrub

For a little more exfoliation on your skin,  mix the juice from 1 lemon with 5 tablespoons of sea salt and one tablespoon of olive oil to create a luxurious body scrub.  The fresh lemon scent is really invigorating and with the addition of olive oil, this scrub will leave your skin feeling fresh and moisturized and incredibly soft.

5. Coconut Oil

Coconut Oil is wonderful, a product that has so many versatile uses. I love using a bit of coconut  oil and lathering it right onto my skin. It’s great for use on legs to help while shaving, but also great for putting into your hair and leaving it in a bun for a few hours as a deep conditioner. Rinse out after a couple of hours with shampoo and voila, your hair will feel and look silky smooth.
