OOTD: Daisy Lovin’

I only recently uploaded and OOTD that featured daisies, and well today, this outfit may include some daisies too. Basically, I’m obsessed. Daisies are my life right now. I walked into a shop one day and decided then and there that my already full wardrobe needed daisy shorts, daisy print shoes, daisy flower crowns, daisy kimonos and well… All else daisy printed. Too much now? NEVER! In the future? Most probably yes. But hey, at least I’m getting good wear out of them now…

And to top all this daisy goodness off, just a few spritzes of Marc Jacobs Daisy perfume, because well it’s kinda appropriate at this present moment.

I’m really loving pairing simple denim shorts with cute tops and converse. It’s cute and comfortable and you just don’t need to worry about anything.

“Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak”

So it’s only Tuesday and I’m already sooo done with this week. Plus it doesn’t help that I have exams right now.
As I was in an exam today, it really surprised me to see the usually high-heeled, lipgloss wearing girls sporting sweats and Nike free runs. Plus no makeup. It was actually really refreshing to see.
But….. Style is a way to express who we are and in that exam hall, with everyone wearing comfy sweats, we all seemed the same. While that’s also not that bad, standing out of a crowd can be a good thing.
Personally, I’ve gone through many style phases, some more questionable than others, but I’m finally finding my own personal style that I feel comfortable in. I’ve been really inspired by some of the new trends this spring, but also the classy ones.
I’ve also started a journal. A place to add quotes, inspirational messages, snapshot memories and whatever else my heart desires.
And of course, I’ve totally become obsessed with Starbucks Vanilla Bean Crème. So what’s new??

DIY colourful sneakers

Screen Shot 2013-07-10 at 15.40.56

Hey guys,

Right now Penneys (or Primark ) have these white sneakers for about 3 euro and they also have them in various colours. I’ve had my ones for a while, so they ended getting quite dirty. I saw tribal print ones in Topshop a while back, but they didn’t have them in my size. i was a bit upset as I really liked them. I was extremely excited when I saw this on Instagram the other day and just had to share it. It’s so easy to do and I immediately tried it out at home. You can draw on any print that you like. I did mine like the one in the picture above.

All you need is a pair of sneakers, preferably white and some fabric markers. You could use normal sharpie markers, but you will run the risk of having the colours bleed and fade. You could also use fabric paint for the design, but the consistency of that would be a lot thicker and take much longer to dry. But it is completely up to you. You can design them however you wish to create your own unique and funky sneakers.

For the print above, it’s easiest to cut your desired design onto paper(such as zig-zags) and then just trace it. repeat with a different colour and keep this going. ( Look at the picture below )imgres

It also makes it easier if you take the shoelaces out before attempting your design, to ensure none of the colour goes on them. Unless you want them to be colourful.. 🙂 It’s all up to you…. So get creative and design your own shoes!!!!

Here are some other design ideas.

blogger-4412_large These shoes are not white, so not all colours will be opaque on it. With brown shoes, black is the best colour to go with, as it will be seen quite clearly. Here, the laces have also been cutified with a tribal design.

Enjoy and Good luck. xoxo

DIY Matte Nails

Mad About Matte

matte nails 2    matte nail

Matte nail polish is so gorgeous and I am totally in love with it right now. I always wanted my favourite nail polishes to be in matte too, so I could wear both finishes on my nail. Unfortunately, you could only buy the glossy ones so I had to make do with what I had. Then I found these simple ways to create your own, so I made my own, using my all time favourite colours. It’s so fast and easy to do….
There are two ways to create your very own matte nail polish

One uses steam, and the other uses cornstarch. So let’s get started!

Method 1) Steam

This way is so simple and easy. All you have to do is heat up some water, until it starts to boil, or just use boiled water from a kettle. Then pour the boiling water into a bowl and place on a flat surface. Apply your nail colour like you normally would and immediately place your fingertips over the steam face down, to allow the steam to go onto your nails. Now just wait for one minute. The steam will work its magic to create a matte finish to your nail polish. Voila! So easy and looks super cute. Don’t apply a top coat, as this will make your nail polish look shiny and glossy again…. 🙂

Method 2) Cornstarch

Cornstarch            mixing nail

Did you now that Corn starch is a secret ingredient for painters of all kinds. Pour a bit of your nail polish colour onto a piece of wax paper, foil, or plate and add just a bit of corn starch to the polish. Be careful to not add too much, just a small amount. Mix with a toothpick and then apply to your nails how you normally would! The finish will be flat and shine-free, very trendy, and you won’t have to buy an extra top coat or special polish.

This picture, as seen at the top shows a really trendy way to apply your new matte nail polish. Simply add a glossy coat to the top, or just the regular nail polish to create this look. It’s almost like a matte french manicure. 🙂 There are just so many ways to style matte nails………

Enjoy and Good luck. xoxo

I just love floral patterns, polka dots and pastel colours, especially during the summer, where you can just wear and buy the cutest dresses ever! I have been so in love with Ariana’s style and tried to find where she got them. The dress she wore on the Ellen Show is by far one of my favourites, but as it is a Dolce & Gabanna dress (shown above), which was priced at $627.00 during the sale, I tried to find some cheaper options.

Ariana Grande, Nickelodeon starlet, has such an amazing sense of style, totally cute and girly and now, totally stealable. Tehe 🙂 Her clothes are just so adorable

She wears quite a lot of florals and polka dots (like myself) , always looking so cute. I love her style so much and thought I would show you ways to steal her style, which btw is really affordable. So here we go….

DIY Lace Shorts

DIY lace shorts

Lace shorts, especially white ones are totally in right now, but can be quite expensive to buy.

Time to DIY it up and create our own lace shorts in just a few simple and easy steps.

White shorts and white lace are fashionable, but pastel pinks are also pretty to wear. So start off buy selecting a pair of shorts to re-vamp. Place these shorts on a flat surface. if you have a large roll of lace, cut the last into thin strips and have them the horizontal length of the shorts. If you have a roll of lace that is already in thin strips (as pictured ), just place these over the shorts and cut when the fabric covers one length of the shorts. Lace can be found in any craft store or textile store. If you like to sew, you can sew the strips of lace onto the shorts, one at a time. Otherwise, you can use fabric glue to glue the lace strips onto the shorts. Let it dry and then turn the shorts over to do the other side. And voila!! Your own lace shorts.

To add your own personal touch to it, you could add some different coloured lace or shorts to make them unique and your own.

How to style the shorts.

The shorts pictured here have a pink tone to it. They were paired with a simple white button up blouse and a printed clutch.

These shorts are also pinkier and this look is very casual. Just paired with a nude takn top and a denim button up, that was left open. Layer on some jewelry and sneakers for a more casual look.  images

This last look was paired with a red flowy tank top and an oversized cardigan, for when it gets a bit cooler. Add gold jewelry for a more comfy chic look.

Add a brown belt too, to pull a look together.

Enjoy and good luck. xoxo
